On Personalities

So I'm quite interested in personalities (this is what made me go into Psychology). I came across a few famous tests and one that I mostly measure myself with is the MBTI Jungian typology. Turns out, I am an INFP. Go take the test out of fun or when you're free.

Then came the Enneagram types. I used to think that the enneagrams are just too complicated for me to understand. We're being categorized in numbers and there are wing types and everything. I couldn't understand, thus paid no attention. But lovely Hui Lin the genius managed to understand it completely and I tried taking the test. It was still confusing because out of all the many enneagram tests I've taken, I was first a type 9, then a type 4, and lastly a type 2. Which is really quite frustrating because it seems as if I have multiple personalities. However, this is simply because we are not stuck to one type, but use a combination of all these personality types and make the us we are today. We are not set into a certain type. That's why everyone's unique in a way.

So I tried to find out which type I was most dominant in and using statistics, out of four tests, I've got two results which labelled me as a type 4. Below is a brief description of the Type 4.

The Romantic (the Four) --> sometimes they call this the Artist.

Romantics have sensitive feelings and are warm and perceptive.

How to Get Along with Me
  • Give me plenty of compliments. They mean a lot to me.
  • Be a supportive friend or partner. Help me to learn to love and value myself.
  • Respect me for my special gifts of intuition and vision.
  • Though I don't always want to be cheered up when I'm feeling melancholy, I sometimes like to have someone lighten me up a little.
  • Don't tell me I'm too sensitive or that I'm overreacting!
What I Like About Being a Four
  • my ability to find meaning in life and to experience feeling at a deep level
  • my ability to establish warm connections with people
  • admiring what is noble, truthful, and beautiful in life
  • my creativity, intuition, and sense of humor
  • being unique and being seen as unique by others
  • having aesthetic sensibilities
  • being able to easily pick up the feelings of people around me
What's Hard About Being a Four
  • experiencing dark moods of emptiness and despair
  • feelings of self-hatred and shame; believing I don't deserve to be loved
  • feeling guilty when I disappoint people
  • feeling hurt or attacked when someone misundertands me
  • expecting too much from myself and life
  • fearing being abandoned
  • obsessing over resentments
  • longing for what I don't have
Fours as Children Often
  • have active imaginations: play creatively alone or organize playmates in original games
  • are very sensitive
  • feel that they don't fit in
  • believe they are missing something that other people have
  • attach themselves to idealized teachers, heroes, artists, etc.
  • become antiauthoritarian or rebellious when criticized or not understood
  • feel lonely or abandoned (perhaps as a result of a death or their parents' divorce)
Fours as Parents
  • help their children become who they really are
  • support their children's creativity and originality
  • are good at helping their children get in touch with their feelings
  • are sometimes overly critical or overly protective
  • are usually very good with children if not too self-absorbed

Honestly, these personality typology does not represent all of me truly, but are just general aspects of me. Neither would it do you. So are all these hype about knowing your personality useless and just for fun?

There are advantages in knowing who you are. First of all, you get to understand why you act the way you do and there is nothing wrong at all with you. Second, you get to realise what your weaknesses are and work on those to make you a better person you would like to be. Third, as for partnerships, you would get to know who you would not get along well with and could use this knowledge to either avoid the person or find another alternative way to make the relationship work. However, I strongly advice readers not to use personality typologies as a dating guide. As I said, not everyone is the same or stuck in a certain way. People change, adapt and can coexist well together even though it is said certain two individuals are just not for each other. Fourth, you know which line of work you have most satisfaction with. I believe that if we enjoy what we do, we can be successful and have less stressors in our life.

Superhero That Represents Me

Out of the silly quizzes I took, and results I get, I'd say a quiz about which superhero movie I am was one of the coolests. Why? Because she (yes, a SHE) sort of represents me. What's my result? Wonderwoman? Nope. She's a character from X-Men! Hahaha!

Her name's Rogue!

Even her name is cool! Now I'm not really an X-Men fan. When I first saw the name Rogue, I was like, "Who the heck is that??" The only female character I remember from watching X-Men few years back was Storm and I thought her powers were cool. Well now that I know Rogue, I'd say she's cooler!

Just read my results. She's sensitive, she's determined, and she's independent! Well, I'm not sure about the independent part, but I'm pretty sure I'm sensitive (sometimes to the extreme) and I get pretty determined about something I want (like eating french fries. If I don't get it today, I must get it tomorrow). With more research, I found out her superpower was to be able to absorb other people's abilities.

I don't absorb other people's abilities, but I do absorb their moods. I have this glitch in me that tells me the person beside me is having some kind of internal turmoil even though he/she acts totally normal or quiet. And it works best when the person is a close friend and is upset about something. The bad part about my glitch is when I can't find out what's wrong and I get emo-ed myself. That's not fun.

Rogue is also a character in conquest of becoming close to normal so she's able to at least touch people. I too, am in a conquest of something. I'm constantly seeking to improve myself (in a laid back kinda way) and get rid of my negative sides. I sometimes just chicken out 'cause it's out of my comfort zone.

And now I'm in conquest to search X-Men movies!

Horoscope: Cancer Woman

It's like 90% accurate so sooome things might not be true. It's almost there though.

CANCER WOMAN

When she is in love, she will act both ways. First, shy and polite; trembling to be near you. Second, attached to you like glue and trying to be with you all the time. She will try to go home with you after work, or have every lunch with you. It is O.K. if you like her too, but if it is not the case, you will feel very uncomfortable.

She hates to be talked about or gossiped by someone else. If she knows, she will be very hurt. In nature she is a shy type, except she has been influenced by some other Zodiac. She is not a brave or daring type, so if you like her then you better be the one who start first. She will not accept her true feeling, so if you like her you better tell her first.

She is like a musical note; always change in tunes. So one minute she can be funny and cheerful, and one minute she can be sad and depressed. Other people may think of her as "Over-acting", or "Over-reacting".

When she is depressed, she will go out and look for things to make it up. She
loves money, and thinks of having "Money" as "Happy", but not as "God". She will not look down at you if you do not have a lot of money, but she will help you make money, save money. She is not an extravagant person and sometimes will tell you not to buy her expensive and useless gifts.

She is the type who enjoys a long and quiet walk. A cancer woman is also influenced by the "moon", so under the moon light she will be a fascinating woman.

She has a constant fear for many things. She fears of not being smart enough, not pretty enough. Even if she is not fat, she will not be satisfied. Assuring her of her looks would help, because she can change mood 4 times a day.

She is not stingy, but you will not surprise if you see she collecting old or broken junks. She sees that everything are useful to her. She will find a way to re-use it again some day. She is not a jealous type, but possessive.

The best part of her is that she will sacrifice everything for her love one with no limit. Don't leave her in times of troubles, she will never forget it. She is not a weak type, even she looks like one. Example, if you argue with her, she might cry her heart out. Once you left, she will wipe her tears and start cleaning up her apartment normally.

She is a very careful mother and will look after her kids every step of the
way. If she is a mother of your children, you are at ease, but if she is your mother-in-law, you are in pain. Not to worry, this type of mother-in-law will not let her own daughter be an "Old maid".

She could be moody and argue with you about many little things like other women, but she will always wait and want to take care of you. If you argue with her and disappear a few days, she will be waiting for you, but not for long O.K. This kind of testing is risky, try not to do it.

The Cancer woman needs 2 things to be happy about which are "Work" and "Love". She can be live in a dusty house, but she can not live in that same house with no Love.

Personality Test

How true can a personality test be? Oh well, took this out of curiousness.
Get To Know Yourself Better

Your view on yourself:

Other people find you very interesting, but you are really hiding your true self. Your friends love you because you are a good listener. They'll probably still love you if you learn to be yourself with them.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You like serious, smart and determined people. You don't judge a book by its cover, so good-looking people aren't necessarily your style. This makes you an attractive person in many people's eyes.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are afraid of failure and scared to have a go at the career you would like to have in case you don't succeed. Don't give up when you haven't yet even started! Be courageous.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of having no one to rely on in times of trouble. You don't ever want to be unable to take care of yourself. Independence is important to you.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.
